We catch Chapter No. 3 of the Royal Order of Kamehameha I holding commemorative services for Prince Kuhio. It is a great combination of grass-roots politicking, with one of the locals poking fun at the higher-up officials who make an appearance and then leave–or don’t come at all.
But it’s a totally local event, complete with a program holding all the words–in Hawaiian–to the songs that they sing. And it’s the kick-off event for an entire week of celebrating Prince Kuhio and the culture of Hawaii. I dig it!
